Beginner Printmaking: Your gateway to a new (ancient) art form at Garrison Art Center
This class will give students the fundamentals of printmaking, with the goal of making the artform accessible to all, even those who do not think of themselves as “artists.” We would work on monotype (both trace and traditional) and linocut. Half of the sessions would be devoted to monotype and half to linocut, giving students an introduction to printmaking techniques, the time to build their skills and confidence, and the opportunity to get creative and play with these processes. This class would be heavily guided, while encouraging individuality of each student.
This class is for adults and mature teenagers of all skill levels and includes 6 hours a week of open studio time. All materials are included.
